The books deals with multiple plot threads that challenge the safety of the small Mercury pack, but these were easy to follow and understand. I assume that as the series expands these characters rolls with be expanded. There are a lot of characters on the periphery that come and go but they don’t bog down the plot but I didn’t see that they played much of a roll in this book. New readers to Wright and her shifters won’t have any problems understanding the world building of this book. There are elements that make some plot devices cross over points to her Phoenix Pack books, but everything was explained in Spiral of Need therefore I knew all the plot nuances from previous character interaction from books I had not read. Wright does a stellar job in bringing me up to speed in Spiral of Need.
I wanted to see if this new series translated without having to know anything about the world that Wright created in her previous shifter series. Wright which encompass the same universe as her Phoenix Pack series. I have not read the previous shifter romance books by Ms. Spiral of Need Mercury Wolves, is the newest shifter romance by Suzanne Wright.
